MF65 Sway Chains/ Stabiizer links

I've never mounted a 3 point implement and have questions about mounting the almost new 6 foot bush hog that came with the tractor. A problem is that when raised about 12 inches the deck tends to come into contact with the rear tires.

After doing some Google research and examining the coupling, I've concluded there is too much side to side movement of the 3 point system. The tractor is equipped with sway chains long enough to permit the excessive movement. Maybe they weren't designed for use with an implement as close to the rear tires as my mower. And I don't see any provision for adjusting their length.
During my searches I've seen stabilizer chains with turnbuckle links that would be adjustable in length. They look like they might fit my sway chain mounts, but not a lot of length adjustment in them.

I also saw adjustable solid stabilizer links with a wider range of adjustments but I'm not clear on how complicated it would be to mount these to my MF65.
I'm considering trying to bolt some of my sway chain links together to test my guess that lessening the sway could keep the deck from hitting the rear tires. Can any of you suggest ways to keep this from happening?

Thanks.
Dale

On my 35 MF I use the solid stabilizer bars on my 5 foot brush mower. Some people may want their mower to
sway, I'm not one of them.

Sway chains should keep the arms from hitting the tires. They have to be long enough to let the arms lower and raise fully. Even with the chains some implements may hit the tires due to their shape. You need a stabilizer bar to keep 3 point implements from swinging freely. Here is a picture (borrowed from the internet) of a MF with the stabilizer bar in place. The stabilizer shows as an accessory in the parts book.

If you don't have this, here is a link to the AGCO on line parts books. On the model search page use just 65 to search for your model, not MF65. https://apb.agcocorp.com/

You need sway a bar. I have a 6 ft on mine, not nearly new. The sway bar keeps it from flopping around so much. It doesn't hit the tires.

I always understood that you should always have sway bar on each side, not just one. AgriSupply is a good source for them although YT may also sell them.
