Man and a cow

As a farm kid I honed my skill calf calling. I became proficient at bleating through cupped hands to mimic a calf. It was a cruel ruse around calving time. The one that got me was standing at the head of the neighbor’s turkey barn and mimic the turkey call where upon the whole barn you answer back.

My favorite animal call story was a fellow would go out and hoot at the owls in the evening, one would answer and hoot back. He did it for months until he found out that another birder that lived across the way was doing the same thing. They were hooting at each other.
