Round baler belt

A question for the experts. Thank you in advance for replies. The knowledge on this board is amazing.
A belt on my NH round baler has a small V shaped tear in the middle of the belt. Is there a glue or other product that should be put on the tear to keep it from getting any worse?
The belts are in otherwise good condition. It looks dry this week so will try to get some third crop.
Thanks again

If it were mine, I would replace the belt. Whatever you do to the belt won’t last and it will leave you broken down in the middle of the field.

Sooner or later you will have to change this belt. My brother ran his baler for two seasons, making well over 1,000 bales with a belt that had a hole in it. He only changed it when he had the baler apart replacing a bearing. Really a crap shoot how long it last. Fix it now, or run till fail.

Have you considered cutting out the bad section & adding a good section with connecting laces. Back when I baled utilizing clipper lacings I hated extra laces. Now that I utilize Mato lacings only trouble is 1 extra lacing pin to change when changing pins.

sounds like a rock poked through it,, like said unless its at least half of the bale width long Run it,, also said was cut off the bad spot and replace it,, if it takes off a few inches yes add and slice extension,, sure no need to replace the whole belt
