Two bad choices

I pulled motorcycle out of shop to wash it today, and had door open while doing it. The cat came walking up with a ground squirrel in his mouth. He has a habit of bring them into the garage live to kill later, and I did not want one in my shop. He saw me reach for the door button and came running so he could beat the door. I saw he would get inside before the door closed so I jumped in front of him. He dropped the ground squirrel, who woke up, looked around and climbed up into my bike.

The door is now closed, but I have a ground squirrel in my bike with the dog and cat both sitting beside it, so no way the squirrel would come out. The keys were up at the house, so I am wondering if taking it for a ride would scare him out. That idea passed as I had visions of face to face with the squirrel while we were going down the highway.

I decided to start the bike, so did that, he popped up from out around engine, climbed up on gas tank, where I could swat him off. The cat was bored by now because I got involved and the squirrel ran under the stuff along side my shed while dog ran off in other direction thinking that was correct. I decided it was safe now to open door and put bike back inside where there should be no ground squirrels.

I am not happy about having an extra ground squirrel near my shop, but considering the earlier choices, this seemed the best. I thought maybe the cat will catch him anyway. I came out a few minutes later and the dog was puking the squirrel up in the grass. The squirrel is dead, but do not know if dog actually caught him, or if the cat did and the dog stole it.

rustred beat me to it. The Day The Squirrel Went Berserk in the First Self-Righteous Church. Great song, great video.

My cat use to bring live lizards to my bed. Naturally they liked to crawl under the blankets. I.m just glad neither one of us like snakes. Now he is 18 and doesn't hunt anymore.

My uncle had a germen shieperd that was better then the farm cats at getting mice, rats, musk rats, and ground squirrel on the farm. He would kill them then drop them my your feet to show you.

A few years ago I had the overhead door open on my shop and was in the doorway working on something or other. We didn't have a cat, but there had been one hanging around for a while. I looked up to see a squirrel running toward me with the cat closing in behind, before I could react, the squirrel ran up my leg and launched himself onto the top of the open door. Immediately the cat lost interest and turned and walked away like there was no incident. Now I was tasked with how to get the rodent outside, yelling and poking a stick up there where I could not see took a while, but eventually Mr. Squirrel jumped down and disappeared.

One afternoon I saw a chipmunk run into my open garage door. Fearing how destructive it could be, I opened all the doors and chased that little guy around for the next two hours, but it would not leave. I finally had him trapped behind a board and tried to squish him, but he escaped again. The next morning I found him in the toe of my shoe, dead fortunately.

Mrs. 730 had a runt poddle Zoe who very good at catching mice living in an old house built in 1871 we had a few on them.
one night Zoe caught and killed one left it lay on bedroom floor. I had to go to bathroom and stepped on a dead wet furry thing I almost didn't have to go to bathroom Mrs. 730 said what are you doing I said Zoe left a dead mouse laying on floor she thought it was funny.
