Goings on in the kingdom

Baled some hay Friday after work, should be the last of the year. Good thing too because the pto went out on the 830 on the last bale. Got it baled but it quit before I got it tied, so one bale went direct to the steers. Got one other bale without tying because I grabbed the wrong hydraulic lever and opened the door instead of tying. Otherwise it went ok.

Had the annual family get together at the farm this weekend. All the brothers and sisters get together every year for a camping trip and gathering. I don't go most years because I don't camp. So this year it was decided that everyone would camp at my farm. They came Friday and left today. All the brothers and sisters except my oldest brother Chuck.

Top row left to right is Don, Dave, Mary and Bruce. Bottom row is Rita, Ken and me. Had a lot of food.

We told a lot of stories and laughed a whole lot.

A few of the kids and grandkids came too. Abe has a particularly big weekend with all the attention. Here he is sleeping off the sugar high because the pumpkin bars got left on the table over night and he got up there and ate one whole pan and licked the frosting off the other. Lol.

He was run pretty ragged by the kids who loved him. He's a real smart dog and going to be easy to train. He minds me very well.

Got everyone packed up and out by noon today, except my brother Jeff who left his jacket with his phone in the pocket. He was an hour away by the time we figured that out, so I met him half way to give him that. Think I'll take a nap now.

Ok.... Don't accuse me of being the clothes police.... But did you notice that Jon, Ken, and Don all wearing the same flannel shirt. Great minds think alike. Wingnut

No, all brothers and sisters. My oldest brother chuck was not here. And my daughter noticed we all had the same shirt after I posted this on fb. We never noticed.

Jon, I have always thought that you have to be an OK guy because you comb your hair like I do.

Looks like a good time was had by all. How far away from you do your brothers and sisters live.? Good you can all get together like that.

Furthest is the one that didn't come, I think he is in North Carolina now. Of these the furthest is Dave and he lives in the south East corner of South Dakota. Jeff lives about 3 hours away in Wisconsin. Mary and Rita live on the east side of the metro area. Don, Ken, Bruce, all live within 15 miles or so. I'm 11 miles from where I grew up.

My 2 sisters and I and spouses have had a campout at a local state park for many years, and had to cancel this year because at the time, the campground was closed, and a couple of us didn't want to get out and joust with the virus anyhow. Probably resume next year.

That looks like fun family gatherings like that went the way of the dodo birds after both sets of grandparents got called home about 15 years ago
