Couple pictures of where chain broke on
bale loader. Also measurements. Wife and
I looked at 15-20 links can't find any
numbers. Wife even tried sanding one a
bit. Hopefully you have a couple links
laying around. Happy to buy them. Thanks

If I had any I would. I don't have anything around with that kind of chain on it. Not many hay elevators in Alabama. Or pop up bale loaders for that matter. Lol

Many uses for that chain. Manure spreader floors. Grain elevators, both in combines and stationary on the ground, hay elevators in the loft. Many places to look. Our local case ih dealer stocks it. We have replaced links on our henry pop up loader. And bailing wire will patch a broken link and last for a thousand bales.

I'm pretty sure I have a roll from my Henry loader. Let me know what you need. I'm in Oregon so it won't be fast but the price is right.

The same link type drives the fertilizer distributors on my Farmall offset tractors. I think my links are smaller. I can check tomorrow.

Wish we were closer, I have a couple of the tools used to hold that type of chain while you replace links that I've picked up at sales. I'd give one to you but you'll probably have found one by the time the post office would get it to you, given how the new postmaster general has screwed things up.

The different sized slits are for different sized chain. Slide link in the slot and use the tool to flex or twist the chain link til the link lines up with the slot, the hammer on back side of tool to slide the chain links apart or together. Great tool but few people have ever seen one, and even fewer used one

hick Daddy has it, I should have grabbed some chain and took pics showing it,, its basically a vice to hold the chain so you can drive the links apart,, I was heading up to start planting wheat so I was not thinking it all the way through sorry,, HC sure is on point about few knowing what it is they work great though and save smashed fingers when trying to do it in the field with one of these lol

Email didn't come through. I looked at my chain and it is 62H, wider (1 7/8") than your 55 (1 9/16"). Sorry it not's the right stuff because I'd happily share some of my 10 foot roll.

As long as its not one with a cleat on it all you need are a few links of detachable link chain the right size

Kevin; Just take a sample link to any farm store or equipment dealer. That style chain has been around since Christ was a pup. It is likely #62 chain. I went to local farm store when I built my firewood elevator and bought sprockets, drive and idlers, 10ft. rolls of chain, and a couple dozen spade links and made the chain assy, to suit my needs. All components were in stock on the display shelves. I broke the 10ft. rolls down into 13 link sections and added in a spade link and then another 13 link section etc. The tool is handy and I have one, but you don't need one.
