I started using corn head grease about 8-10 years ago, but is that rated a 0, where gun grease is a 2, like a oil viscosity, did i interpret that right or not?

Yes, they're called NLGI grades.

Starting at 000 which is really just thick oil, to 6 that is a solid stick.

Here's a chart, scroll down to the bottom of the page.

When I went and saw the UP 4014 Big Boy, they were greasing the wheel bearing or something about the drive train.

They had a pneumatic grease gun that fed what I assume were #6 grease sticks into the fittings.

The sticks were solid, looked more like plastic than grease. And they fed a bunch of them into every fitting! I don't know where the grease was going, but they were seriously packing a lot in!
