Forty six years ago my younger sister was hurt in a car crash on a flat stretch of road on a clear day. She was stopped on a highway waiting for traffic to clear before making a left hand turn into her work. An older farmer (50, 60 years old, LOL) plowed into her car at nearly sixty MPH. He told police that he was looking over his shoulder at the corn field along the road and didn't see her brake lights, turn signal or that she was stopped until it was too late.
