Green paint tells me that it is a genuine John Deere, but all John Deeres seem to have the JD trade mark cast into the parts. Enjoy and remember the Yellow and Green call it a John Deere.

What color was it before you set it on barrels and painted it? That will get us started. Also we can eliminate jd. If we see the hitch pole. From what I can see, the only thing jd is the paint you put on.

It has some similarities to Case but most Case the tie rod bolts to the top through a bushing and not clevis type. But a more complete pic would tell

I'm sure it is NOT a John Deere. Some David Bradley used a clevis type tie rod end like the one you have.

I have rebuilt many running gears in my parade wagon hobby including John Deere and yours isn't a John Deere as others have agreed. Also, the bolt/washer/lockwasher/nut assembly attaching the tie rod to the spindle appears to be a repair solution. Normally this connection is a clevis pin secured with a cotter pin to allow free tie rod end movement. I rebuilt a couple of Gehl gears with the same tie rod connection as yours and both the tie rod ends and the spindle end had bronze bushings which I replaced and resulted in no-slop, tight steering. The both had clevis pins secured with cotter pins.
