Around those corners.

cvphoto54333.jpg

Around this sharp uphill corner with the berm.

cvphoto54337.jpg

Don't worry, the berm is soft.

cvphoto54338.jpg

And don't hit the tree.

cvphoto54339.jpg

Then down the road some more.

cvphoto54340.jpg

Around this corner to the left.

cvphoto54341.jpg

Then this one to the right.

cvphoto54342.jpg

Making sure you don't fall in the creek.

cvphoto54343.jpg

Then set the container right there beside the road.

And then, since there is no room to turn around, back out.

Me: Ok boss. Lol. Glad I'm paid by the hour.

My blood pressure would be on a boil by the time I got backed out of there.

Have you got to go back and get it someday? Back out of there loaded?

Kind of reminds me how we used to set wagon boxes[kicker rack, or gravity boxes] on running gears, out on farms, with the roll back truck. Fine. Empty. Then one day I'm sent out with a running gear to put under a kicker rack. Get to the farm, and there it is, fully loaded!! I was not happy.

(quoted from post at 16:43:23 08/27/20) Well they have faith in you, and it was a shady beautiful place to hang out. Jim
f I had to back that rig out of there, I would be out of a job & they would have an abandoned rig!
Of course I could probably not have even gotten it in there.

Sometimes. Lol. This time we had to cut one on the last
corner to the right because the rear trailer swing caught it. But
otherwise this time that wasn't too bad.

Don't you just love jobs like that. I still remember a number of places driving trucks where if you made a 6 inch mistake you could end up in the Lake of the Ozarks. Plus that was going backwards. There is a Condo that one can see from Hwy 5 as you cross one of the bridges that is where we did that job and a couple of times one of the guys came close but got lucky and some one stopped him before he did go off. Or another job we did where there was not enough room to turn around so you loaded up going forward then backed a mile to where you dumped the load. Or the time when DOT did a route when I was pulling a mobile home where the under pass was to low to get under and soem truckers told of of a way around but the way around left me with 1 inch on either side to cross a bridge

I feel bad on my small yard that was designed in the horse and one bottom plow days, that the big trucks need to drive out back another 200 feet to find a Y to turn around on.

The crurved berm and the backing out was a little much. The sway backs and water hazard were just part of the adventure!?

Paul

Them are place that I walk in, look about & BACK IN.

It is way easier to pull out if ya have issues.

when i was working for an implement dealer we had to deliver 3 DMI wagons 2 on a roll ball I was pulling the third one with pickup truck.
Elmer was driving roll back caught low hanging phone line with a wagon broke phone line.
I saw this happen phone line snapped like a whip. When we stopped I told farmer see if phone works he came back and said no.

good job. I bet u wanted to drop it at the main road and have him drag it in with the skid steer. Bill

I drove rigs over the road for 25 years and jobs like the one you did is called separating the men from the boys. Good job I believe I saw the Bulldog put his paws over his eyes a couple of times so he didn't have to watch. LOL

I've said it before and I'll say it again -- Jon, you amaze me!

What's the story with the chain on front bumper??

If that were me, I have a sneaky feeling I would remember that the boss had insurance on the rig. "[i:17de69941c]Then, without notice, the truck just went screamin' into the trees to meet its doom! What's that boss? [b:17de69941c]Why[/b:17de69941c] did it do that?? I wouldn't know sir. I was too busy dealing with the container at that moment. Maybe that darned bulldog decided it was such a nice area that he wanted to stay there[/i:17de69941c]."

Looks like you would do a good job doing the old advertisements we used to see on TV where they parked the trucks against the balloons without breaking them.

A few years ago a major freight company delivery driver had a delivery on a back road in the next town. 150 years ago that road used to go through from our town so the driver thought he would go ahead. After he gave up and tried to turn around he got wedged into some trees and stuck in soft ground. His company called a tow company to get him out. The tow company called a logging company with a timber skidder and a man with a saw before they were able to get him out. When delivering triaxle loads of dirt to homes with long driveways I usually back in from the road.
