That is me exactly..besides even if i have the choice,i will go with electrical tape,because it keeps pressure.

Black tape and bit of shop rag . Works better and stays tight and keeps the cut cleaner

Early this summer I tried moving a plow with my shin. With blood pouring out, I grabbed four blue paper towels, folded them, put them on my leg and wrapped it with electrical tape and stuck my leg in a garbage bag. Got to the ER. The nurse took one look at it and said, I take it you're a farmer. Don't know how many stitches were inside but, nine on the outside. Went home and swore at the plow.

I came home from work lots of times with paper towels and electrical tape stopping blood. But in 43 years I never had an on job accident.
