Michigan drivers license restrictions

Got my drivers license renewal notice today. On line appointments to go in to their office in person, but dont get me started on that... Form is showing a restriction 37.. What is a restriction 37? To the best of my knowledge I have no restrictions.

Would that require eyeglasses?

It's not numbered, but my Nebraska license has a restriction that I need to wear eyeglasses while driving. It's no big deal to me, I wouldn't want to drive without wearing my glasses anyway.

MONTCALM. Just about a diagonal mile from
SW corner of Isabella. Choices are Mt
Pleasant, Alma. Or Greenville. All about
a 30 mile trip each way. Blow half a day
no matter what.

I tried to renew my Mi. Lic. plates on line. Like in the past, they won't let me do the Farm Plate on my truck because they want me to come to their office and sign a paper saying I understand the do's and don'ts of a farm plate. Last year it took two hours of hanging out there to get it done. Now they tell me I have to make a appointment and the next available one is in Dec. My plates expire on Sept. 28. I sent them a e-mail because I couldn't get anyone on the phone. The response was they are busy and will get back to me.

I thought maybe the state had started adding a county designator to newly issued licenses due to the nnalert mess. If so, thought maybe they would go by this:

I like Steve's way of thinking much better!

DoubleR, call for an appointment, 'after hours', when the office is closed.. Its worth a try, we and a friend did. Got in the next day. shhhhh !

The most common restriction is for corrective lenses. If that's on your current license, then I'll bet that's what "37" stands for.

All of the restriction codes have always been letters.
You can find a few examples on line.
But none show any numbered restrictions.
No matter if private or commercial licenses.

Ray, maybe the #37 restriction on the form is merely a "foot note" for the system to indicate that this time you have to renew in person (eye test, etc.) Instead of renewing online.

Are there any restrictions on your old license?
