Shear coupling replacement

I have a 231 Massey Ferguson that sheared the coupling. I took side cover off and removed cotter pin and removed coupling. I ordered a new one and a week later I went to put it back on and now the cotter pin hole can't be found. Can anyone help.

Hi, presumably the cotter pin holes are present in the coupling. There is no cotter pin hole in the pinion. The shaft should be gently pushed forward and at the same time push the coupling rear wards fully. Select the hole in the coupling which will allow the cotter pin to fit freely with a minimum of end float and open it. There must NOT be any loading of the shaft into the rear of the gearbox.

Thank you. I got confused when I didnt see a hole in the shaft. This is the 1st time I've ever done this. I feel pretty dumb now. Anyway thank you very much. This is a good site to get answers. Maybe I can get it you g now. Thanks again.
