Leaking power steering cylinder

I was mowing with my MF 231 with my Woods rotary mower today. On new fields I never know what is hiding under the tall weeds, so I use the Woods. I don't like to beat up my flail mower on rocks. So far only a couple smaller ones. One of the steering cylinders started to leak. I refilled it a couple times. I was just keeping my right tire well lubed. I was at my 10 AM stop time, so I came home No mowing after 10 am during these hot days as directed by the fire dept. I will have to finish with my flail mower tomorrow. Question. Can I block off the lines to the right cylinder, and just use the left cylinder for steering? Stan

If you either loop them or put a vent like a sock ove the ends to keep dirt out you could steer it . If you block them off it will not steer unless you disconnect one end of the cylinder. Be better to just fix it. I know want to get done then fix.

Better just repair it, or add oil as needed IF leak is not too bad. Oil goes to BOTH cylinders during a turn either way, so looping the ends together means NO oil will move the left cylinder. Capping the lines will keep the left cylinder working, BUT steering will be faster and weaker with all oil going to one cylinder.
