coolant blowing out

I have a 1964 case 530 ck 188 diesel blowing gases thru the cooling system with no thermostat installed.
When the thermostat is installed the coolant gets in the oil. thinking blown head gasket or crack in head or block?

your on the right track. or sleeve o rings leaking. pull the pan and let sit over night with some plastic on floor and will see if antifreeze is leaking from sleeves. best to pull pan first before head. if no leaks then pull head and get it magnafluxed and check gasket.

Leaking sleeve O-rings wouldn't cause "blowing gases thru the cooling system".
