1954 Super H

I recently bought a Super H, Stage 2, which doesn't have a belt pulley drive. Is there a difference between an H and Super H belt pulley drive?

I guess a more appropriate question. I guess....is there a difference between a Super H Stage 1 belt pulley drive and a Stage 2 belt pulley drive. My Stage 2 has the hydraulic unit under the tank and the battery below the seat, etc.

Serial plate is missing, but I have researched enough to be pretty sure it is a Stage 2....(Of course, without the serial tag, all things are possible...lol...)

Thanks,
Jay

A stage 2 SH will have an engine driven hydraulic pump at the distributor. It will also have the battery under the seat . I see no different Belt
drive between the two tractors. Jim

Jim,
Thanks for the reply. My SH does have an engine driven hydraulic pump at the distributor and the battery under the seat. I don't need the belt drive specifically, but would like to install one for....well, just because it looks like one should be there....

Production date codes are on the major castings with Month * Day * Year 2 digets, a screw head, two digets, a screw head, then a letter for the year. These are not stamped in, they are raised part of the actual casting, changed every day. A close matching code on the engine, middle (torque tube) housing, and the final drive housing will be solid indicators of when the castings were made. They were then assembled usually a week to 2 weeks after the casting was made. (seasoning, Machining, coating the inside with Glyptal, and then putting together a tractor. Jim

Jim,

The torque tube casting is 1*22*Z, which corresponds with it being a SH Stage 2....cast January 22, 1954. I'll look at the other castings and go from there.

Thanks!
Jay
