My 44 was just as bad. New sleeves and pistons fixed her up just fine.
Needed the middle two valves. They tend to get too hot compared to the others.

Years ago I was given a MF with a Perkins diesel. It had a cylinder like the one without a hole in the block. I pounded out the piston. Honed it a lot still had pits. I put a set of rings on all the pistons. It has run for a lot of hours mowing, and will still run, if needed. I would do things different today.Stan

I had a 55 seized like that. The block was cracked between the two rusted cylinders and was not repairable. Hope yours is OK.

i do have a spare set of used pistons and sleeves from my uncles 44 i replaced when i was 17 years old. he wanted new pistons and sleeves so i kept the old ones all these years.i also have his massey too. makes 4 specials i have. i will try to get these sleeves out and go from there once i get back to it. hope the block is good. a winter project now. i sure like the looks of them .i used to drive his special when i was 8-9 years old when loading bundles for the thrashing machine. lots of times we used his massey to run the thrashing machine. in the 1960's.
