Our Fire Dept had a C-8000. I wonder why anyone would want a cab forward single axle tractor though.

Drivers seat is actually AHEAD of the front axle, and on a rough road, the driver will be either hitting his head on the roof, being firmly planted in the seat, or more often than not, somewhere in between.

First one I drove was a tractor hauler 57 Super Duty C750, with a beaver tail, 332 HD engine. Then added a SD C850, with an air lift ramp,
477 gas. Both were capable of hauling two Ford 5000s. Made many trips over Stevens and Snoqualmie Passes with that load.

(quoted from post at 06:53:55 08/11/20) They were used for inner city delivery. Roadway used hundreds of them and a 28ft trailer.

Well Randy, yes they did but they were probably five foot shorter wheelbase.
