you are in for more rain, at least that is what our fortune teller, er...forecaster said this morning. Missed us last night but
still chance for tonight.

Weather guessers say we may have rain off and on all week. It has been pretty dry here but just enough rain to keep me from getting all my first cutting done

It is around 8:30pm and we have thunder and light rain which we need but I also need to finish up my first cutting of hay. Never had first cutting be this late in the year

Old,

My daughter lives south of Richland along I 44 next to the Oasis truck stop. We visited her 3 weeks ago, and I baled her 1st cutting at 95+ deg without the A/C working in the cab. The hay had already been rained on 3 times, but the windrows were huge. I don't know how you guys survive the summer heat! I was real glad to get back to Minnesota where the temps were in low 80's and low 70's at night. We did get her hay up and in the barn, even though it was bleached, it wasn't dusty. We'd have a difficult time selling bleached hay to our horse customers here in MN, they like the bales to have a green color.

Stay safe and cool if possible...

I know that area well since I was part of the road crew who rebuilt the bridge on Hwy 33 just north of that truck stop. All the hay I have been doing is still nice and green. By the way if you where down in the Richland area you where less then 20 miles from me

old i have been trying to get my first crop done hay is brown probably should be used for bedding. between equipment trouble and heat humidity making me this summer has been a real challenge.
then we got 2 1/2 inches of rain today.
i am not complaining after reading some of the posts and watching local news i' m saying thank God i got off easy

We still haven't seen a drop of rain yet, Send some my way would you. My grass is crunchy and the 2nd cutting of hay is almost nonexistent so far.

Nice thing is the hay I still have to do is green and thick so still makes pretty good hay even with the dry grass mixed in

Old,

I knew you are close to Camdenton, which I go through when we visit daughter's place. Some time I hope to meet you.

If you drive threw Camdenton and down Hwy 7 when you drive over the dry Glaize creek bridge your about 2 miles from me to the right. That creek is the property line for my place. By the way years ago I live up in MN. Winona area. Family farm is up there way also and last I knew one of my cousins has that farm.

By the way that Hwy down by Richland is 133 not 33. There is a bridge on 133 that was put in due to the old bridge flooding a lot and closing the road. The junction of Hwy 5 and Hwy 7 south of Camdenton is 4 miles from me

Old,

I'll try to meet you next summer when we visit daughter's place again. She had a beautiful daughter last Nov 3, and thus I am required to drive Grandma to see her and get her grandma fix.

Stay Well!
