My parents have a mailbox just like that still in use, Carrier said it’s the oldest one on the route. Dad is 83 and says it’s been there ever since he can
remember.

or modern tractor drivers that cant seem to stop or not hit things?

our mailbox has been taken out multiple times during harvest or when they are spreading manure hot & heavy..

We live on a rural gravel road that is not really wide enough for two modern tractors running dual rears to pass yet they insist on doing so - right in front of our house.

Wish I could put up some "no tractor passing next 100 yds" signs out there.. if they want to pass, they should do it away from the houses, out in front of the fields where they aren't going to destroy anything.

When I had my mail route I delivered to any number of boxes like that. Those old boxes were built way heavier than the ones they have now. If they didn't get hit or vandalized they would last forever!
