1922-23 Fuller Johnson

Hello, I have a 1922-1923 3hp Fuller & Johnson that I am wanting to sell for my father in-law. Just dug it out of the barn this last week. No idea when it ran last. Can anybody please tell me how I might go about figuring a value for this? I know it isn't a tractor but, I also have a 1940 1-1/2 platform truck I need to figure out what it might be worth.

Thank you

Condition and complete will dictate value. Just throwing this out there. The engine likely $200-700. The cart $50-200 depending on what it is. Go to the Smokstak site where there are more engine guys and you’ll get better results.

If it is complete and not stuck, even if it won't run, don't go too cheap.

You can always go down.

But if it will run, the price will go up!

I was thinking about trying to find something along that line, until I priced them!

Nope, not going to be my new hobby! LOL

Just a side bar. There is a Fuller and Johnson registry which I believe is now run by a grand daughter or great grand daughter of the company. If you send them the ser.# and a donation she will send you the production and sales history of the engine. Search Fuller and Johnson registry.

It appears to be complete as the day it was last run is not stuck. Down side is I don't think it has ever been cleaned off. Must be a 1/4" of dirt and grease over the whole thing. It is no on a cart. It was mounted on an old belt driver John Deere grain auger.

Thank you for responding.

Take some diesel, kerosene, or product called penetrol to clean it up. Kerosene will likely cut the grease. Penetrol will preserve the paint. They’re only new once.

If it’s a complete runner with igniter and the mag is good then $600-$700 isn’t out of line.
