Help wanted add

I finally showed/taught the wife how to herd the semi in the field for me. She don't like going down the road loaded tho...

I think I could do a dozen. I am sure many on this forum spent a good portion of their youth handling square bales. When I was young the neighbors would contact my dad and when I got up in the morning there would be a note so and so will pick you up at 10:00. He never discussed pay so sometimes it was good and sometimes not so good. My uncle made an arrangement for my cousin and myself to work for one of his friends and he wouldn't pay us. We had worked the entire weekend plus a couple of other days and had baled several thousand bales. After a visit from my uncle we got paid.

Problem is as you well know a lot of people don't want to work PERIOD. And a lot of people don't want to pay either. I'm sure larry would pay fine, but I know some farmers that would probably just offer you all the water you could drink. I would need $30 an hour to do that job with the way the tax brackets are set up now. Funny too how some guys make them to 75 or 80 pounds each. 40 to 50 pound bales are ok by me.

Yeah at $1.25 an hour. This was 1964-66 while I was in High School. It was hot back breaking job. I sure like the look of those bale loaders.
