A Ford sidewalk plow tractor

A fellow up the road from me has a Ford with a cab like that on it. I can't remember if it has that style of fenders though ?

It was an airport tractor. The military used a lot of them. Probably civilian airports too.
My buddy had one just like it that someone had added a loader to.
They had a 4 speed transmission with torque converter so they could double as a tug for moving planes.

Ultradog; You are exactly correct. CASE also produced a large number of Airport Tugs base on the model 530 with the Case-O-matic torque converter drive tranny and had similar cabs. Those wide fender would have been torn off plowing tree lined sidewalks and they would have broke off every sigh post between the road and sidewalk, but worked very well to keep slush and water off the windows when traveling at higher speeds on airport service ways, and plowing them. Also notice the draw hitch which is as wide as the fenders and has 3 hitch positions center, and extreme LH and RH. typical of tugs. Snow plows were very common on them around here, in the NE----------Loren
