voltmeter on a 6 volt system.

I've searched without success to find a 6 volt round panel-mount volt meter to install in place of a round ammeter on an old Oliver tractor.

Where would you look if you were looking for this? I see YT has one but it's made for a 12 volt system. I suppose I could figure out some type of divider to make the YT unit work. But I'd prefer a voltmeter that can be just "plopped in" and connected.

Not looking for any information on connecting as I understand the difference between ammeter and voltmeter and the proper connections for each.

Thanks

Why would you need to alter it. It just will read whatever voltage is present but the needle will not go all the way over to the 12 just stop at 6 or wherever it is at.

If I was shopping for a voltmeter I would look for one that shows 6V when the needle is straight up in the 12 oclock position like an ammeter that is in neutral. Im sure someone out there makes one like it.

ok dont get me wrong here , i always want to see the ammeter charging all a volt meter will show is say 7.5 volts charging. or on 12 volts 14.8 volts. if it sits on 12 volts means not charging. i want to see whats going into the battery . and as soon as the charging system quits the ammeter will tell you. i know a volt meter shows battery voltage but that dont interest me. i sooner want to see how fast its filling up and when getting to full charge. thats just my idea. never thought of it but why cant have both gauges amp and volts.?

I do like the idea of both volts and amps on meters. Maybe we will do that route. The cost does go higher to do both meters, but maybe it will be worthwhile.

Chrome ring, if that's your thing.

I have both in separate gauges in my Pete. I usually don't look at both much just one or the other. I do like the fact that it will show the voltage climbing as it charges and the amp meter shows less amp as it charges back up.

Hi Ron,

I thought this was an interesting looking meter. Not sure if it would look right in your application though. Carl

Yes Carl,

I did see that. I checked and it's on backorder. Not sure if we will do that. It would
be for Farmamerica and we don't have lots of money for projects like that.
