Can part of the explosion in Lebanon be a dust explosion?

Looks to me like the folks managing those grain silos weren't paying attention to the dust build-up within the head-houses. They needed some retired midwest elevator managers to run the system. Looks like a bunch of corn on the ground in one of CNN's pictures. I thought it looked like grain silos in some of the early video as it was blowing up last nite. Really clear today.

I would say yes, also don't forget all the Ammonium nitrate that was stored there. It is a wonder more people weren't killed.

There was a fire burning at least 5 separate types of chemicals with the different smoke colours . Then the final white explosion with the shock wave that travelled for miles .
Similar to the Halifax harbour explosion . Most of the injuries will be to the face from people watching .

I didn't think ammonium nitrate fertilizer could explode alone....thought it was oxidizer and needed fuel to explode. ANFO

Years ago when we used a lot of ammonium nitrate at Clemson, I remember reading that the bags should not be stacked over 5 high because of explosion hazard.
I think it was written on the bags.

No. The silos were heavily damaged but the warehouse where the explosion was is now a hole filled with sea water. There is now posted video that shows the explosion and it was not the grain silos.
