First cutting on some of our higher ground with the 1977 year model 1105 Massey Ferguson and our Krone 2801cv disc mower conditioner with impeller conditioning tines.

I think the trick with an impeller mower conditioner is the grass is thrown against the hood above and out the top. The impellers mix up the grass too, so it doesn’t fall flatter like my sickle Hesston mower conditioner with rolls. Sometimes the hay off the mower is easily waist high, but as you make the next pass, the bottom of the tractor body kind of flattens it down a bit - and the MF has a lot of ground clearance too.

I think one of these days when I’m watchin’ from the porch, I’m going to enjoy these videos. Funny, we use to take all kinds of pictures, now mostly video.

those 1105 and 1135 masseys were some good old tractors. the cold started good and ran fine and used moderate fuel and had good visibility and a stout hitch and easy to work on. If massey had gotten to a bigger engine like the case 451/504, jd 466 or for that matter anything better power that the 354perkins they would have dominated in my opinion. a nice tractor to be on and off of with good steering, good brakes, nice turning radius, and good hitch.

Was this just recently cut ? It's amazing that in your location that the crop is just now at peak, must be the location. It looks good and this was a section you have been working on a few years to improve, sure looks like you got that done !

Ok, that explains it, still a great looking crop given your location whereas hay is ready much sooner than here, although I've seen it similar around the same time. Sure looks nice, wonderful place you have there !
