forwarding service from States to Canada

Hi Folks,

I'm now aware of the wonderful service offered by Yesterday's Tracotrs: affordable parts. However, I live in Ontario, Canada, and would need to use a "forwarding service" because YT does not ship to Canada.

Has anyone got experience and a suggestion for a good reliable forwarding service? I live in Ontario, near Perth (Eastern Ontario).

Thanks much,
Eric

I would contact YT on the phone and ask them. There are many Canadians on this forum so one would think that they buy lots of parts. Of course the phrase "one would think" causes lots of trouble in the world today...

Depending on the size, the easiest is to mail it. If that doesn't work have it sent to a UPS store on the US side just across the river. Neighbours here are crossing to Mi. to do this. If it's farm parts it's allowed

You are an hour away from Ogdensburg, NY.
You could ship stuff to the UPS store there and go get it.
They use to charge $5 to hold it there.
USPS there use to do it for free but I think it became to popular.

Of course this won't work if the border is closed to you.

You can also ship it to that UPS store and they will do the paperwork to ship it into Canada to you.
For a fee of course. But that might be less then cost of your time and fuel to go get, pay the $5 as well as bridge tolls.

Hi MF in Canada,
Welcome to YT, I grew up near Perth and went to PDCI in the early 1960s but have lived in Ottawa since 1975 but still help my brother on the farm with mechanical repairs.
I had a daughter that lived and worked in the USA for 12 years and it was always easier to drive to Massena or Ogdensburg but with nnalert those options are not available.
The USA to Canada clearance fee used to run close to $50.00 CND where as if you drove to one of the business that would do the holding there was like a $5.00 USA fee and the Canada Customs would usually not charge you HST.

I’m from BC and been in the same boat.
Like the others said, send it to a mailbox service just across the line and pick it up. But we can’t do that now.
I’m kind of surprised that YTMag can’t just send into Canada like most other companies selling stuff do. Just makes me buy it somewhere else.

Good luck, Grant

Hello. I have the same problem. YT does not ship to Canada
grew up in Maxville Ont, now in BC The best service I have had from the USA is Steiners
in Michigan. They ship wordwide, and know what to do. The extra service cost for shipping is a lot less than the fuel costs to drive to pickup.
and at this time we cannot cross the border to go shopping. The cross border shipping depots are running limited hours. I have a friend
who is a long haul trucker but every time he tries, the places are closed. usually early afternoon. We have been waiting over a month to pick up.
