Never had a scout but I had an international 1210 8 pickup and we had 3 load stars with the gull wing hoods those were the best trucks made I think

Where I worked the contractor bought several Scouts (1964) as 4WD was the only way to get through some places, sand dunes. Had a lot of down time due to the slave clutches. It got to the point the tool room stocked the lines and fluid. You could start them in gear and get home, lots of fun shifting with no clutch, just turn off if you need to stop. Ahaa fun times! joe

The 80 series clutch slave cylinders mounting brackets had to be replaced with one that was redesigned and the problem was solved. This was typical IH Corporate greed, don't do any R & D, it might reduce the dividends that we can pay our preferred stockholders. (Think early release 460'd & 560's.) Early "independent" mechanics had the clutch problem solved after they encountered their second customer with the same problem. IH management didn't have a clue & never sent down repair instructions for a "fix" to IH shops according to a friend that was an IH truck mechanic at the time.
