Interesting tank

I found it in an old shed and it looks like a gas tank. I can't figure out why it has a spout in the middle of what appears to be one of the mounts for it. It has part of a sticker still on it. My question is if it is a gas tank what does it go on or if it is not then what is it for? For reference is a standard work glove.

Likely a tank for a gasoline or fuel oil stove.

It is for a stock tank heater. Had one just like that one.

I agree with Ray. It's part of a stock tank heater. The clamp goes around the air intake pipe and the needle valve is set to drip kerosene slowly into the burner. We used one for many years.
