Was 58 this morning so felt like splitting some firewood. The Ford and the splitter work well together. Cut and split a couple baskets full, I have about 8 more to fill. Ten left from last year so when I get these filled I'll be set for this winter.

Hello Doug
Looks looke a neat set up . Wished I had that in 78 while I was on the Farm.
Would have made getting ready for winter for my Father in law a lot easier .
We just blocked it for size 7 split as needed .
neighbor across the road had plenty of tops from harvested trees that told us to take all we wanted . Several years of wood there .

Ahh was just telling the wife its that time again to start doing firewood. Usually put up 8 cords a year but I think 2 more years and thats it. Kids put a heat pump in their place and thats looking pretty nice.

I heat my tractor shop and radio room with wood, but I have gas for backup or for when its below zero and I need heat fast. So I don't need to burn wood but I like doing it. Just something about a pile of firewood feels good when the snow comes. I need the exercise, I like the wood harvesting process, and of course chainsaws and log splitters and tractors that go with. And in the winter the scent of a wood stove burning just makes you feel warm. So I'll probably keep fooling with a bit of firewood as long as I'm able.
