Am I parsimonious?

Or just a thrifty old man?
I must have driven through some fresh oil on the road somewhere and it threw black stuff all over my new to me pickup.
Grrr. I had to use mineral spirits to get it off.
It also motivated me to get sone mud flaps on it.
Cousin was a body man and he told me the best and cheapest thing you can do to preserve the tin is put mud flaps on them.
I looked at the mud flaps on the old pickup and they still look pretty decent.
So I cleaned them up a bit and put them on this one.
This is the third pickup I've had them on. Bought them from the dealer when I bought my 01. Then swapped them over when I bought the 06. Now they're on this 13.
Maybe I'm just cheap.
But I suspect there's more than a few here who would do the same thing.

I wish you won't use such big works as "parsimonious". My brain is too full of other junk to learn new words any more. LOL

I would reuse the mudflaps. "Resourceful" might apply better than being parsimonious. That's what I always tell myself--I'm resourceful hahahahaha!

I've done the exact same thing! The mud flaps on mine have been on 3 other trucks I've had. No sense in getting new ones if they'll fit. It doesn't matter if you sell or trade the old truck with or without them, they aren't going to make a difference on that price so might as well keep them.

Absolutely, what better sense of satisfaction to know that you have been able to use something again? Never mind the money saved it’s the joy of being able to do it.........and I’m a bit of a skinflint as well, so my wife tells me!!!!!!

would have kept driving my'01. I run them 20 +. Still running my 1962 as well. Don't know if that is parsimonious or not?

parsimonious??

I saw the word in the title and clicked because I thought I read [b:2a4c5f77b7]persimmons.[/b:2a4c5f77b7]

Which are currently dropping off the trees.
We pick up a water bucket worth of golden ripe fruits every day now and the goats go crazy for them.

They make my mouth pucker. Super sweet fruit but I get some kind of crazy allergic reaction. Can't eat em. Glad your goats enjoy them.
