In my area of central Iowa, we had not received significant rain for at least a month and a half until last Sunday morning. That morning I had downpours that produced 2.2 inches in roughly an hour and a half. All the cracks sucked it up pretty well. The NWS reporting station just 2 and a half miles south of me reported .02 inches. Yesterday afternoon I got another 1.5 inches in the usual downpour method while the NWS station reported nothing at all. So it goes. Still, crops look mostly better than they should for having endured such a long dry/hot spell. Soy will be helped around me at least and hopefully corn can make some better weights too.
