Cut hay and oats

Monday after work I cut second crop hay. Had a little trouble when a drive chain broke on the swather.

They run in oil so that makes for a messy job.

Hay is better this time.

Yesterday after work I pulled the conditioner off the swather and cut my oats. Oats looks pretty good and the grass hay I planted looks real good. Straw might make better hay than straw. Lol

Looks like a real good crop of hay. If you can get that oats dried down good that straw will make good bedding for your critters. Gary.

What do you have on that windrower for an engine? Did Case ever put their air cooled engine on a windrower? Those types of machines came into use after I left the farm and became a teacher. After I stopped teaching & started messing with old tractors with my brother-in-law, he had a JD with a Wisconsin, but I wasn't around it much. BTW, my brother-in-law was a Case man, farmed with SC's, DC's, an LA, a 930 & a 600 diesel. Don't know where that orphan JD came from.

This one has an A-126 water cooled Case engine. They did put the case air cooled engine in some but I don't know which models. Some models had the Wisconsin engines too.

I'm going to start carrying a old rim in my truck, for a base plate for my jack. I wonder why I never thought of that. Stan

drove the other tire on a 2x4. Had to jack it up to spin the wheel to feed the chain around the lower gear.
