The question(s) have been asked about occupation, location and even elevation.
Now how about average speed on your vehicles electronic dash?
37.7mph on the Astro Van.

Electronic dash what the heck is that????????????? But then I do not believe in things like that and sooner or later things like that may come back and bite people

My '88 Astro doesn't have a whole lot more electronics than my DC CASE, but I'd say my average speed is dropping every year.

Back when I was a know-it-all high school student, I couldn't see how Dad could stand to drive so slowly. Upon questioning him the response was always the same, "It's my time to relax." It took me a few years to appreciate his answer, but I get it now.

I'd say 35 mph is about right when traffic conditions allow it, (no one on my back bumper).

Yeah, but, if you have a hose ...or a dog that hangs around long enough...end of problem, before the better half comes home from visiting relatives.

About 1963, when I was 16, I was riding with my Grandfather in his 1958 Chrysler New Yorker with the big tail fins. He was driving about 45 m/h and had 20 or 30 cars backed up behind him. I said "maybe we should go a little faster". His reply was "when I was your age, old men like me drove me nuts". I miss that old men. Ed

Years ago, when I had an Olds Diesel car, wife and I once averaged 62.5 mph over a ten hour period (dusk to dawn) on a trip. The Olds only burned 2 gallons per hour, so stopping for fuel didn't hinder us. Cruise set on 70 if I remember right.
Last summer (2010), we traveled and we couldn't get the electronic display above 47.5 over a ten hour period. I was disappointed since we have always figured 50 mph when calculating time/distance for trips. We have a GMC Terrain, gets 27 mpg.
Of course, the trips in the Olds were 30 years ago, and we didn't have to stop every hour and a half for relief.
Every minute you stop is a mile down the road.

How about Max speed, I have a GPS in my old Dodge Cummins for the speedometer. It's average is 28.3 and the Max is 87.? How could that be! Could it be when I left the coffee shop and my neighbor's Power Stroke blasted smoke on me. Welll it is a 1/2 mile of clear road. Yeah I passed him. but he says he let off. ( no body ever loses a street race) LOL Vic

i'm a retired builder from newton, n.j. and my 2003 mustang cobra turns the 1/4 mile in 11.8 @ 121.49, thats my favorite average speed. chuck

I have an because of being an E.T I also have learned there is a place for things and a place thing should not be. Computers are fine where there is climate control but they like to do odd things when placed where they are not in climate control areas. Sorry simple fact that unless you understand the way micro chips do what they do an all

Last September a '98 one ton dually Powerstroke left my '98 one ton Cummins in the smoke, at 80 MPH. Don't know what he was doing but I was doing 80 with the Cummins and it felt like I didn't have a whole lot left in it. Jim

Speed limit +5 on the highway. Nothing over the speed limit in town. The only vehicle we have that's modern enough to record speed is Marilyn's van and it's too cold in the garage for my likings so I'm not going out to check.Jim

Has it blown up yet! I have only seen a few f7s make it past 2600 miles. At least older the ones anyway, had bad cooling problems. They were fast snowmobiles, but just built like junk. I cant believe some of the updates cat sent us to fix them, when I worked at a cat dealer. And the saber cat? what a joke.

Car doesn't have a speed recorder but my bike computer does. I average around 11 on most trips, sometimes 10 on an 80 or 90 mile trip with a load.

Don't have an electronic dash in my truck... but I'd wager that the average is somewhere around 50 mph for most driving I do and selected trips have averaged as high as 77 mph as calculated.

No electronic dashes in anything I drive. BUt back around the time I was 20-21, when I was dating a gal who lived 32 miles from my place, I could routinely get the '67 Mustang there in 28 minutes, including 2 S curves that you DID NOT go through faster than 35 mph, and 4 stop signs.

I didn't even know that cars and trucks had a trip mph readout. Don't think it is on my '98 Dodge 1 ton.

I once made it to Des Moines from Boston in 22 hrs. I think that comes out to about 53 mph. Thought that was pretty good. Can't remember how miles per cup of coffee?

Always wondered if a toll-taker could radio for a cop if the toll-ticket scanner flashed an overspeed trip. Be kinda hard to beat that one in court.

Yes, they had a lot of trouble with them the first year, but the only problem that I have had is the secondary clutch. I put in a new Team unit and it's like a new sled. I can really come out of the corners now. It's in the shop now because the right ski got 3 inches behind the left one and the bulk head got bent but I can't blame Arctic Cr#p for that.

I would see wrecks come in to be rebuilt, one guy I worked with had the job of tearing the whole sled apart to put in a new bulkhead and tunnel, wow what a job, but this guy was real good at it, I think he could do the job in 2 or 3 days, I cant remember. It is really something to see it done. He was the only one in the shop that could do it and I helped him a few times on them. In 05 I think it was he did 8 of them. I saw the guy in December and asked him if he still had to do them, not very many he said. I guess the new sleds are all one piece now, tunnel and bulkhead. Im not up to date on them anymore I left the shop in 06.
