I am not organic. Take all covers off, open all doors. Run machine wide open while blowing with air wand. Shut machine off and blow all crevices. Repeat, repeat, repeat for 3 hours.. then run first 10 bushels out on ground and feed to chickens.

I charge him the same as conventional customers. In addition I charge him for cleaning combine. He is happy to pay it. I caught that where you said organic crop is supposed to pay. I am not an advocate of organic farming. I think it's fine for those that want to do it. I also think it's fine for those that don't. I am kinda glad as many do it because they don't get as much yield and there's way to much grain as it is.

Last month I talked to a local organic farmer last month and he said currently he gets about $10 per bu depending on the protein. This is hard red spring wheat. I’ve sort of tracked the organic wheat price over the years and it seems like it’s always been about double of conventional wheat.

Also, around here organic farmers are required to leave a strip next to any conventional farmer and any road. Some guys plant that strip to hay and hay every year. Others guys just cut one pass or round during harvest and take that wheat to the local elevator and sell it as conventional.
