Kuhn tedder parts

I have a Kuhn model GF5001TH. John Deere carries the parts. Price is the issue. My understanding is these tedders are identical to a NH 163 tedder, and I have ordered things like the slip clutch springs and a rotor arm thru Messicks. However, JD’s price for the PTO ujoint spider is 2x the Messicks price, so I am thinking these will be too. And they are $$$ to begin with. Currently, I need a new rotor hub and all those hub internal bearings. So, my question is, are these 2 machines identical with regard to things like the rotor hubs and bearings. I rather not stop at JD and price compare in person. In any case, the bearings disintegrated and the hub got really chewed up inside. It happens to be the exact rotor I replaced the pinion drive gear on about 2 years ago. This is a used machine I got at auction and I now know the previous owner drove it very hard and probably never used grease. But I am worried I did not get the right amount of spacer washer installed or something. Anyone know these things well? Thanks.

I always understood the NH, Deere and Kuhn machines were all the same.

Kuhn is probably the largest tedder manufacturer worldwide for decases, I'd be thinking the Deere and NH are just paint and decal jobs. Can't see them having special parts.

I ran a 5001T many years ago, nice tedder. You've got hyd fold, I didn't.

If you sign up for Deere parts online you can price anything you want from your computer. I do that often then look for other options on parts. As you are in PA try Fry's Farm Equipment as they have a huge implement salvage yard and might have what you need. Tom
