Hi all I have a JD 4020 new to me, since I have owned it have been unable to hook up hydraulic equipment to it, for some reason cannot get the couplers to seat. I have changed out to the pioneer couplings and still no luck, (I have had other tractors with hydraulics that no problems hooking up) what could I be
doing wrong?

Possibly the cylinder is pressurized due to temperature change, I have had that problem with my 3-point wood splitter a couple of times. I just loosen one fitting to bleed off the pressure and then it hooks up fine.

Do you have JD to Pioneer adapters. Pioneer fittings will not plug in to older JD tractors. I am assuming you know how the JD coupler works. You push the JD coupler in till it clicks and then turn the rod underneath the housing ninety degrees to lock it in. To uncouple turn the rod so it is facing out the back of the tractor and pull the hose out. Other than that it should work.

Those couplers from Deere were supposed to be able to hook up under pressure. I always though they sucked. I got more than one oil bath from them where they were not tight somehow and I turned the lever .
