this is my neighbors 4020. good thing it hada loader on it, otherwise......over the handlebars!

Yep. Get out the duct tape and bailing wire! I used bailing wire to hold the steering link together on a Ford pickup once. It was not the safest fix, but it got me where I was heading.i did not drive fast either.

The front axle just isn't sufficient to have a front loader. I've got a little Kubota tractor I finally took the front loader off because it was breaking king pins. Then when the king weren't breaking the wheels would flop around independent from the steering. It wasn't uncommon to drive it and the left wheel would be trying to turn left and the right wheel turning right.

had a JD 4020 that kept breaking the dog leg, put a 70's series JI Case front end under it, problem solved.
