Figs Yum Yum

I allow a neighbor to pick the figs in my yard.
They was out there at 6am this morning when I went to let the chickens out.
As payment the lady gives me a bowl of preserves.
Perfect timing to have a fig preserve and butter sandwich with my lunch.

One of the things I miss from when we lived in MS. Had a fig bush in the back yard. Can't beat them fresh off the bush.

Can't stand those things. I ate enough of them at grandmas house. Along with liver,buttermilk and calf brains.

Just curious where in MS did you live and I assume the WI stands for Wisconsin? How in the world did you get way up there? lol!
I live close to Meridian which is east central MS.

Those look good. We had a fig tree in the backyard at our house. I used to wait until they were ripe and then make my mouth raw eating so much. Wish I had one of those sandwhichs. My grandmother made some of the best pear preserves. I sure do miss them.

I about 150 miles too far north to raise figs.I asked a fellow from Georgia why they are not in the stores and he told me that they were too fragile for the shipment I also miss muscadines too
