Finding Year for Ford 555c

I am trying to find the manufacture year for a Ford 555c, but can't seem to use the tips listed for determining the year from the serial number.

Serial #: A416878

Any help is appreciated.

There's another number on there. I think it's a code number? A good dealer/parts person can tell the year from that.

On second thought, maybe it's a unit number?

That could be a serial number from a unit built in Belgium (Antwerp). I'm not aware of any published serial number lists for that factory.

the 555C was only built for a short time - 11/88-8/93

serial number A415050 was the first number of 1991 for industrial tractors

as stated the "unit #" will tell you down to which shift it went down the line, this is important to know when ordering parts
