Oliver Side Panels and Fuel Shut off

I always shut off the fuel at the sediment bowl on my tractors. I'm working on the 880 side panels and trying to decide how to fix up a way to shut off the fuel without removing the side panels. I'm thinking of drilling a hole in the side panel so I can insert a piece of pipe with a notch in the end to shut the fuel off. The hole would have to be big enough to see in while inserting the pipe. I thought I saw one sometime ago that had the pipe attached to some kind of hanger or bearing to leave the pipe in and connected. Any ideas?? I don't care for putting a shut off valve in the fuel line, I did that on my 88 and the brass valve started leaking shortly after installation, so I will not go that route. Thanks, Chris

Many guys have installed electric fuel shutoff valves.

Solved BOTH the access and "forgetting" issues using manual fuel shutoff, as they manure off every time the ignition switch is turned "off".

A source for an electric fuel valve is forklift parts suppliers.

I'm GUESSING I misspelled "shut" and the Forum software autocorrected it to "manure", what the heck???????

I have an electric shut off connected to the carb. I bought it from a forklift shop. It works with Lp, gas, or diesel. Also 6 volt or 12 volt positive or negative ground. It's been on there over twenty years. Don't have to mess with shutting the valve at the sediment bowl, just turn the ign off.
