I've just been given a gallon of Royal Purple oil, 15w-40. I know nothing about it but was told it is used in trucking industry. Just wondering if anyone has used it in old tractors?

My son use it in his car, he said it's good,It's a smaller company trying to compete with the Giants like Mobil and Shell oil Company!

Royal Purple is an excellent product.
The way I would rate oils is Amsoil, Royal Purple, Schaffers, Rosella, then 'the johnny come latelys' like Mobile ONE.
Just my opinion, please don't flame me on this. DOUG

I understand Royal Purple is an excellent oil...top of the line especially in the racing industry. But some of my understanding of this lubricant is that it
has a thin viscosity. I'm probably wrong here but I'd think it would subseptible to leakage in older equipment.

I remember Royal Triton a purple color oil back in the 60's. Maybe it's the same as Royal Purple? Stan
