Well, I suppose the wagon pulls right behind the baler, and four-wheel wagons don't present much tongue weight. He must not have ever used a two-wheel trailer like we used to- can't load the rear too high before the trailer lifts the baler off the ground!
 
Looks like he pulled a wagon from the looks of the shoot. I have seen a few accumulators around here but never a wagon. I thought the ingenuity of the horse shoe and t post was quit interesting. Probably a case of using what you have.
 
It looks to be closely modeled after some of the factory-made hitches I've seen, not much metal to some of them, either.
 

That's not a whole lot different than a factory hitch, other than the creative use of materials at hand. A four wheel hay rack doesn't put much weight on the hitch. Almost none.
 

Must not have many hills or corners either. I would think that a Half a load of hay in a left hand turn would bend the whole unit into a horseshoe. Especially if that turn was 180 degrees and uphill
