This video was taken June 1st. Tried the Massey Ferguson 1105 (and the air conditioned cab) on the John Deere 348 baler with #42 pan kicker.

Not exactly 4th of July fireworks in the air, but square bales - and none of them exploded...

Hope everyone has a great Independence Day!

Baling Hay

Wow! Nice looking hay. Nothing around here that nice and heavy this year. You gotta get rid of the fly tho, no flys allowed. Lol

Nice job! Windrows are great. Baler running good, near capacity. Hay starting to come over the auger at inner end, 8 to 11 strokes per bale, can't tell bale length. Nice video!

Hi Bill

Thanks for sharing, looks like things are running about perfect. Not many better jobs when it is all going to plan. Have never seen a pan kicker here in Australia. These days most small squares use an accumulator and grab on a loader, I use a stackliner, when I was younger it was an elevator on the side of the truck or trailer and many hands make light work.

I almost missed your first line there, kind of wondered how you were just now baling first- I raked second today, will bale tomorrow afternoon.

I did notice a little editing on the corner....

I have never seen a bale kicker on a baler around this area. In my haying days that would have been me with a hay hook riding on the trailer at the discharge and throwing back to the stacker. I stuck that thing in my leg one time and man oh man I bled like a stuck hog.

The first pick up chute I ever saw I was in amazement at that technology. Just drop a pin in the tongue on the side of the haul truck and go. Nobody had to walk and throw it up to the stacker.

So how does that bale kicker work?
