John Deere 430 round Baler help

Pickup won’t turn. Went from one field to the next and the pick up won’t engage. Belt seems tight But won’t turn sprocket for pick up. Do I just adjust the idler more? Just trying to troubleshoot as I drive back to the farm. Any help would be great. I know I need to get a manual.

If it was working before it seems unlikely its an adjustment. Not familiar with that baler, but I usually start by watching it run with the side door open and see where the turning stops, if that makes sense. Is it turning past the slip clutch?

Thanks for response when I got back to farm I t appears bad bearing
got wedged in there! I will investigate in the morning.

My guess would be 1 or more of the 4 pickup tooth bar brgs failed or worse thing would be failed cam track catching a brg. 430 pickup is powered by belt & has no pickup slip clutch. If pickup bars will rotate one can inspect brgs via a hole in shield/cam on LH end of pick up. Try rotating baler utilizing a wrench on large hex shaft on LH end of baler in reverse direction of normal direction. Releasing hyd tension on belts makes turning baler utilizing a wrench on shafts easier with tractor engine not operating.
