cleaning fuel tank

I need to clean the fuel tank for my ford. I'm looking for suggestions. The last one I cleaned and sealed
the fuel in the sediment bowl turned the color or the sealer I used. The tank set for several weeks after
I went through the process and I thought it should been. That tank was full of rust. There doesn't seem to
be any rust in this one.
As always thanks for any help.

Since you are not sealing and you have no rust I wouldn't think that you need to do much more than slosh some gasoline around in it to flush it.

After good water flush cleaning, pour a little WD40 in it and turn tank every way to coat it all inside. This will displace any water and provide a coat to prevent rust until you mount and fuel her up. I've done this when didn't have time or ready to fuel right away.
