1987 JD 850

It's a rebadged Yanmar, so I would think somewhere other than Deere would be the best places. Our 4600 has a Yanmar engine, but haven't needed anything yet, 1250 hours on it now.

It’s for a friend.he said it was loosing power and had a knock in the engine.he also said it felt like it was running flooded, although it’s a diesel.could this be a injector pump problem?and could the knock be a too much fuel(pressure) knock?

"had a knock in the engine.he also said it felt like it was running flooded"

The first thing to do would be to remove the injectors and have them tested.

Yanmar usually won't help you. As soon as you give them the engine serial number they know it is a Deere and won't sell to you.

I put a crank in a 750 last year. Just googled to find the Yanmar engine model number and looked online for the parts. I’ll try to look for the name of the supplier I used.
