to diesel tech or whoever can conferm if the 372 injectors will work in the 354 turbo engine. my 2-85 white has quite a bit of slobber. brother in law says i can have the ones out of his massey combine, with 372. it quite a ways away so just wanted to make sure first. also any differences in the pumps between these two units.?

MF 372 combine used 6545 or 6576 tip, 2-85 used 6673 or 6730 tip. Both pumps were similar with 9 MM hydraulic head. Slobber in most cases is caused by low compression/cold cylinder temp, seldom injectors. Does it clear up when engine is worked harder?

in winter the muffler is always wet and rain cap. not bad in summer. i keep rad covered also. rain cap has a biuld up of carbon. cant be low compression.. starts too good and dont burn oil. so can i swap injectors as a try out??

Compression on the low side, but not enough to effect starting can still cause wet stacking as diesels run much cooler exhaust temp at low idle and low load. You can try the injectors, but I'd still check them first as the needle valves might be stuck in them from setting. Make sure the thermostat brings engine temp up too, if stuck open that will keep engine from burning clean. I doubt the injectors will help though.

As a mechanic I cringe at removing used injectors and replacing with used injectors with out any testing done to either set. It would be far better to have your old injectors tested to verify the are good or bad. I would NEVER install used injectors with out having them tested, infact I never install rebuilt injectors with out testing them. Have you made sure pump timing and injection advance are correct? Have you checked compression pressure?
