Looks like brillion came out with an updated seeder

I drove past a brillion dealer today and this seeder caught my eye. They apparently have been making them since the 40s. They are kind of the gold standard for seeding hay. Fourty year old 10 foot ones with the manual transport wheels still can bring $3k at sales.

I could not find a pic of these on the net. Even their website didnt have a pic that I saw. It is a 16 foot unit. Most you see around here are 10 foot, and 12 footers are getting more common.

Did you buy it? I will pay you $10 per acre to rent it. I was in Dodgeville yesterday and made mention of that to my wife as we went past. Wonder what the price is? Tom

Tom, I was hoping you would buy it and I could rent it from you for $8 an acre...

Would 30 buy it? New iron is very precious these days, don’t know if that would get it.

I do not know what this one brings, but I know $16k will buy a 12 footer. That is $1333 per foot. If this one is priced the same, maybe $22k would buy it.

I don't know if they still do, but our county used to have one that you could borrow. The last time I used it it sat in my shed taking up space for two and a half years before they could get their staff and equipment available at the same time to unload it so that I could return it.

Nice to see the new version,, I have used them a few times work good for seeding but here I do not want my soil packed like that,, it needs to stay looser for as long as possible to take h20 in,, so I prefer using a 6" double disc press drill, you still have the soil between the rows to take in moisture,, some here use a packer for hay fields, their stands will last for making good production 3 to 5 years max,, then it falls off big time,, I get 10-15 years the way I do it,, like this year we have had less than 2" of H20 since the frost went out of the ground including snow so you have to do things far different than where you get 2-5" in a week or less, Brillion makes very good equipment i sold it for years

Case Nutty,

We got 1.7 inches tuesday and 1.2 inches yesterday. Average annual precipitation in my county is 35 inches.

Holy cow! Just called the dealer and it is $39,500! That is $2500 a foot.

average here is 14" for the whole year including snow, we have got less than 3" so far,, never seen 35" here in my life in a whole year, but if you know how you can raise great crops,, first is a shot of a strip of hay barely last is one strip of winter forage wheat

I have two little 6’ brillion drills. One we bought used almost 25 years ago. I’d hate to guess how many lawns I’ve put in and the acres crossed with that
little dude. They do a great job
