Zero Turn Mower Leaf Blower Attachment

I am considering getting a zero turn mower with a leaf blower attachment that mounts in place of a front mount mowing deck. I have a lot of leaves to deal with in the fall. So far, I have only found 2 brands that offer such an attachment. 1 is Grasshopper and the other is a brand called Walker. Both are well built and are high dollar machines. I would like to compare other machines. Do any of you folks know of any other brands that offer this option?

Scag makes two different models (and price and performance levels) of leaf blower attachments. I looked at one two or so years ago when my grass mowing got delayed such that it was more like almost baler time, not mower time. I ended up buying nothing but came to the conclusion that a pull behind with separate motor would be a better and more economical way to go. There are several manufacturers. That leaves a conventional, easier to maneuver mower only machine for the summer mowing season.

Since I bought my ZTR a few years ago, I find I don't have much need for a blower. I can mulch the leaves pretty fine with just the mower, enough that it's hardly worth the bother to blow them with my walk-behind blower.

Where are you going to blow the leaves? Away from the house?; into the woods?;onto the neighbor?
Do you have a garden? Put a grass/leaf catcher on the mower and dump the leaves on the garden. The chopped up leaves will disappear by the end of the summer or before and your garden will love the extra nutrients.
I do that with my neighbors (just a couple), it doesn't take much to get a ton (2000 lb.) of leaves and the texture of the garden changes in a very few years.

Just a suggestion

Mark, that is what I was referring to when I said Grasshopper made a blower. I live in a woods and have a BUNCH of leaves to deal with. I have plenty of places along my yard to blow them to (not on a neighboring property).

Before I retired, I bought a 16hp (brand?) stand alone unit that rode on 4 bogie wheels and hooked directly to the front of our X-Mark ZTRs. We didn't have to remove anything to use it. Back when I bought I want to say it was around $1,500.

This looks like a great option:

Then you can get a walk behind leaf blower and mount it on it. If you need to use it separate you still can.

Do you have a tractor with a 3 point and PTO? I bought one of these at an auction a couple years ago for about $900. It'll move some leaves...

Mine is a Smithco like the pic, but there are others also. It's not as maneuverable as a zero turn, but a lot less money than one of those turbine blowers.

I built one of those out of an old silo blower several yrs ago. It would really move leaves but I have way too many trees to work around to make it practical. After a couple seasons I sold it.
